Hadvar keeps abandoning the opening cutscene, and it's driving me

Hadvar's path gives you more light armor and two-handed weapons early on as you fight through the Stormcloaks getting out, but does not reflect what you get after escaping as it's open-world. I think from a gaming perspective we're "supposed" to follow Hadvar anyway. He has his own voice, where Ralof has the generic Nord voice; and Hadvar's family is far more useful and visible than Ralof's. It always felt to me like the ability to follow Ralof was sort of tacked on after the fact, maybe to add to the illusion of choice. Hadvar is the better choice overall since his family offers more perks and benefits:- if you choose Hadvar, the smithing area has lots of free ingots that do Lore Question re: Ralof or Hadvar. I have a certain role play style that fits fairly closely to some major aspects of my own life, but one thing that never changes for me is that I almost always follow Ralof instead of Hadvar.
